PLANTATION PROJECT SPONSORED BY SBI
State Bank of India, Bangalore circle is involved in CSR initiatives since its inception in India. The present project of Planting around 30000 Sapling funded by SBI under CSR Initiative, will be implemented at Karnataka Samskrith University, having its 100-acre serene campus located at Kudur, Magadi Taluka, Ramanagara District. Oasis Foundation for Human and Natural Resource Development has been assigned to implement the project. Following report explain in brief about the progress of the project.






Land preparation: –
- JCB has been deployed for De weeding of all kind of weeds and invasive species etc.
- Land has been ploughed twice by tractor across the slope and along the contour line.
- All the busy and thorny materials have been transported and dumped outside the campus area.
Procurement of seedlings and Plantation:
- 14800 Bamboo seedling of more than 2 ft height and 17200 other Indigenous large canopy seedlings procured and planted.
- Seedling includes Fruit, Medicinal plants and timber value.
- Seedlings are transported to different location through tractor for plantation.
- Pitting done and one Kg of enriched vormicompost applied for each pit.
- Plantation has been carried out during rainy days.
- 14800 Bamboo seedlings planted in the trenches to create a Bio fence along the border of the campus.
Setting up of Irrigation system
- Two storage tanks of each Five thousand litre capacity have been procured to set up irrigation facility.
- Pipe line, Drip material, Drip material and accessories procured to pump water from borewell to Higher elevation to set up drip system.
- Two platforms of (7ft x 8ftx 2ft) have been constructed for placing the water tank.
- Submersible pump procured to provide water connection from existing sump to Water tank.
- Related electrical pipe and switch board procured and entire system has been operationalised. Drip hole has been created for each plant.
- Irrigation provided for plantation on alternative days.
De weeding
- Due to Continuous rain, there was a heavy weed grown in the plantation area. Hence, all weeds have been uprooted at the end of the Monsoon. All the weeds removed has been shifted to outside ethe project area.
- After de weeding, heighted seedling provided with stacking to over damage due to come heavy wind.
- Second time De weeding done in the month of December.
Irrigation and Monitoring
- Drip Irrigation is provided once in two days days and regular Monitoring taken up to maintain the quality and proper growth of the plants.
- As and when required stacking material is provided for heighted seedlings to prevent damage due to wind.
- Pruning has been taken up regularly to maintain the plantation.
Branding:
Board in granite material measuring 2x 4 feet has been installed at the appropriate location of the project area.
F) RAIN WATER HARVESTING FOR WATER POSITIVE CAMPUS LOWES INDIA.
Location :- Morarju Desai Government Residential Pre University College and High School. Year of Implementation: 2024-25. Fundung: Lowes India Provate Limited under CSR. | Objectives To reduce the pressure on extraction of ground water for various purposes and establish an alternative water source. To recharge the underground aquifer through rain water harvesting for sustainable ground water management. To educate the children and teaching staff on the importance of Rain water recharge and present crisis for water. |
Activities:
Harvesting of Surface Run off rain water
- Development of three Injection well to harvest surface run off and to recharge the running Borewell and ground water.
Roof Top Rain Water Harvesting
- Roof top rain water Harvesting from 5000 Square feet of existing building roof.
- Construction of three new surface tanks of 10000 Litre Capacity each.
- Renovation of three existing tanks.
- Renovation of two existing sump and installation of Submersible pump for one sump.
Plantation
150 Plants of Horticulture, Forestry and Medicinal Plants planted in the campus involving Students.
Agriculture
- Productivity enhancement in Coconut Garden through integrated approaches funded by Coconut Development Board.
- Holistic Tribal Development Project Sponsored by National Institute for Rural Development.
- Sustainable Agriculture funded by ICRA.
- Study on fuel sourcing and Consumption Pattern funded by ITC.
2. Education:
- Infrastructure development and educational painting at Mangalore School funded by Samsung.
- Promotion of School Herbal Gardens in Government Residential Schools of Mysore District.
- Renovation of School.
- Infrastructure development for better learning Environment at Hunsur.
- Distribution of Laptops for Poorest of Poor Students sponsored by Lowes India.
4. TRAINING.
- Training on Income Generating activities for Women Empowerment Sponsored by ITC.
- Implementing High Impact CSR Initiative under Corporate Social Initiative of Synaptics.
5. COVID Interventions
- Establishment of Referral Hospital and distribution of PPE for front line Health worker.
- Nutrition supplement for Senior Citizen during COVID-19 Pandemic.
- Strengthening of Health Care facilities for mitigating COVID 19 in Chennai and Bangalore.
